Fun with Meriwether!

Hello! Long time no blog, but we hope to start posting pretty regularly again soon.

We do have a fun project we're going to start on, which I'll be talking about now! We recently got the new collection Meriwether by Amy Gibson and we LOVE it! Here are the four prints we have:

It's just so cute! Who doesn't love sweet florals, and the colors are so happy. Something about mint green with bright yellow and navy is so cheery, and then you get the added accents of orange and turquoise! I love all of these colors.

We got thinking, what can we make with it?! Sometimes there are almost too many options, right? Well, once we realized that the Amy Gibson also wrote The Quilt Block Cookbook, we had our answer! We are both pretty obsessed with that book, and if you haven't seen it, please take a look. Amy designed 50 blocks that can be mixed and matched however you want, and they're all awesome. Plus, she uses the cutest fabrics, so there is inspiration to be had!

ANYWAY, that leads me to our project! Kris and I decided to choose 9 of our favorite blocks from the book and we'll be making one each week for the next 9 weeks. We also chose four extra fabrics from our shop to round out the Meriwether prints. Some of the other colors in the Meriwether collection included orange, bright pink, aqua and white, so we found some fun additions.

What we added was Cotton and Steel's Sprinkle in Petal, Dot Weave in Turquoise by Heather Bailey, Kona Cotton in White, and In The Beginning's Modern Solids in Marigold. We think they add a nice punch to the rest of the fabrics.

So stay tuned! Starting next Wednesday we'll have the first block up! And we'll have another cool announcement in the next few weeks!

Happy Sewing!
